Synopsis

Due to poverty, Zhao Xiaohua was sold by her family. In an interesting turn of fate, Dong Hongguo, the daughter of a revolutionary, was sent to live with the Zhao family and she took Xiaohua's name. Together, the new Xiaohua and her brother Yongsheng formed an unbreakable bond that was eventually torn apart by the tumultuous times they lived in. Many years later, while searching for her brother, Xiaohua came across a medical team led by Zhou, who was in fact her biological mother. Zhou was deeply sympathetic towards Xiaohua's plight and took her in as her own adoptive daughter. Meanwhile, Yongsheng's real sister was redeemed and adopted, taking on the name Cuigu. She grew up to become a remarkable guerrilla heroine. During one of her missions, Cuigu was entrusted with the task of escorting a critically injured Yongsheng, unaware that she was, in fact, carrying her own brother on the stretcher. However, the mystery surrounding the true identity of Zhao Xiaohua was finally revealed when Cuigu talked with her adoptive father. Having endured the trials of war, the three siblings were finally reunited.
