Synopsis

Long ago, in a venerable temple, a young monk lived a regimented life of chanting mantras and hauling water every day. Soon, a gaunt monk came and the young monk ordered him to fetch water alone. The thin monk refused, so they wound up carrying the buckets together. Later on, a plump monk arrived, and the trio kept shirking the task of fetching water, each one reluctant to do it. One day, a blaze erupted in the temple. The three monks finally banded together to fetch water and put out the inferno, thus saving the temple from being razed. From that day on, the three of them collected water as a team, and they never again went parched.
