Synopsis
On August 13, 1937, Japan launched an attack on Shanghai. The Kuomintang 88th Division engaged the Japanese Imperial Army in a fierce battle near the Bazi bridge. Meanwhile, the commander of the 524th Regiment led the first battalion to defend Sihang Warehouse. Their heroic perseverance shocked both domestic and foreign observers. Yang Huimin, a female Scout, carried the national flag across the bridge and into the warehouse. Later, the heroic soldiers were ordered to retreat to the concessions. Their bravery became a shining example of the "Resistance against Japanese Aggression" and embodied the "national revolutionary ideal" for the Chinese people.
