Labourer's Love
Synopsis
Zheng, a carpenter-turned-fruit seller was doing well in business. Across the street, Doctor Zhu's medical practice was struggling, with only his daughter as his sole companion in the empty clinic. Enamoured with the doctor's daughter, Zheng approached him to ask for her hand in marriage. The doctor declined, stating that fruit alone could not buy his daughter's hand in marriage. He demanded that Zheng aid his failing business before he could consider any betrothal. Driven by love, Zheng retreated to his workshop and pondered over the problem. After days of labor, he finally devised a solution to make the doctor's business flourish. Impressed by Zheng's ingenuity, the doctor agreed to the marriage, and Zheng was blessed to wed the woman he adored.
