On the evening of December 20 (local time), the 7th China Film Week in the United Arab Emirates(UAE) officially opened at the REEL Cinema in Dubai. Since 2018, China Film Week has been successfully held six times in the UAE, becoming an important platform for promoting cultural exchange between China and Arab countries.

Wang Yi, Acting Consul General of China in Dubai, Liu Yuxia, Deputy Director of the Office of the National Film Fund of China, and film director Dai Mo attended the opening ceremony, along with more than 100 guests from various sectors in the UAE. The audience enjoyed the opening screening of Detective Chinatown 1900.
After the screening, director Dai Mo and actress Anna took to the stage to engage with the audience. They presented film merchandise to attendees, which was warmly received and much appreciated.

The Film Week runs from December 20 to 23, showcasing four acclaimed Chinese films, namely, Detective Chinatown 1900, Decoded,Nobody, and The Shadow's Edge. All screenings are free to the public, with tickets available through official channels.
Notably, this year’s Film Week also featured a showcase of virtual reality cinema, presenting two XR works,Palace Banquet in Tang Dynasty and Dragon Gate Guardians. Blending traditional Chinese dance with cutting-edge technology, these productions are expected to offer Dubai audiences, well-known for their enthusiasm for innovation, a fresh and immersive viewing experience.

The event is hosted by the China Film Administration, the Embassy of China in the UAE, and the Consulate General of China in Dubai, organized by the China Film Archive, co-organized by the China Cultural Center in the UAE, and generously supported by China UnionPay.
