2025年09月30日

Under the guidance of the China Film Administration, The 2025 Classic Film Festival is co-hosted by the China Film Archive and the Jiangsu Provincial Film Administration, organized by the local Publicity Department, and supported by Jiangsu Film Group and Suzhou Broadcasting System.

Celebrated as Chinas only annual film event dedicated to restoration, the festival has, since its inception in 2020, successfully held five editions, presenting nearly 100 restored classics from China and around the world, accompanied by a vibrant lineup of talks, panels, and exchange activities.

The 6th edition of the festival returns to Suzhou from October 18 to November 2. Building on the success of previous years, this years program has been elevated to offer 20 beautifully restored classics from China and around the world.

In tribute to 120 years of Chinese cinema and 130 years of world cinema, the 2025 Classic Film Festival will showcase the latest restoration breakthroughs from home and abroad, alongside masterworks of historical significance. Audiences can enjoy IMAX screenings, live music for silent films, and enchanting garden showings in Suzhous signature style. With cultural film workshops and other special events, the festival offers a rich and diverse cinematic experience on the big screen for visitors from across the country.

In addition, the festival will host a forum themed Reviving and Reimagining Classic Cinema, bringing together experts and scholars in film restoration from around the world. The forum will focus on cutting-edge technologies, preservation practices, and market innovations, offering a platform for in-depth discussions and exchange.
