On June 6th, the Exhibition of Chinese Classic Film Posters: Commemorating the 120th Anniversary of Chinese Cinema opened at the Jiangnan Center of the China Film Archive.

Over the past 120 years, Chinese cinema has forged a legendary path through light and shadow, producing countless iconic moments and timeless screen memories. This special exhibition showcases 40 carefully selected film posters from the China Film Archive’s collection, offering a multifaceted glimpse into the rich and vibrant history of Chinese cinema.

The exhibition is organized around four thematic sections, with content updated in phases for each theme:

Oriental Verve explores the fusion of cinematic art with traditional Chinese culture, highlighting the elegance and classical charm of Chinese civilization.

Operatic Reflections blends the lyrical beauty of traditional opera with the artistry of hand-drawn posters, capturing the distinctive allure of opera films.

True Feelings in the World portrays the heartfelt emotions of everyday life and social realities, preserving touching moments within the limited space of poster art.

Vistas of an Artistic Ocean brings together the poetic vision of cinema and the imagination of artists, unfolding a century-long scroll of Chinese film artistry.
