On November 28th , 2023, the China Film Festival opened in Manila, the Philippines. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Cruz, Chairman of the Philippine Film Development Council, and Mr. Manalo, Chairman of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts of the Philippines together with other guests.
The opening ceremony showcased this year's summer hit “One and Only” and featured cultural activities including a display of Chinese cuisine and special street dance performances, mirroring scenes in the film and captivating the audience. Running until 22nd February, 2024, this festival features six outstanding Chinese productions of recent years, namely, “One and Only”, “Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of the Storms”, “Ping Pong: The Triumph”, “Chang An”, “The Wandering Earth II” and “Boonie Bears: Guardian Code”.
The festival is organised by the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines and the China Film Archive under the guidance of the China Film Administration, with the support of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) and the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).
