China Film Art Research Center held its second MA student work exhibition. The display, entitled “Summer of Movies”, included three sections featuring drama, documentary and film curation, showcasing nineteen short movies and three programs made by CFA students.
As the opening film, “Beyond the Mountains”, winner of the BRONZE AWARDS-Best Student Short at Independent Shorts Awards in Los Angeles, kicked off the exhibition. Featuring a total of ten movies, the exhibition’s drama section comprised three parts named “Stories of Youth”, “Camera Rolling” and “After the Storm”, with their respective focuses on youth and growth, camera language as well as family relations. In the documentary section, nine films were presented, covering themes such as time, people and culture. Regarding the section on curation, it centered around film screenings and programs in Suzhou, Shenyang and Shanxi curated by our students majoring in film industry .
Notably, the exhibition showed three short pictures from three female student directors of different grades. They provided unique female perspectives by highlighting women’s emotions, confusions and life experiences.
