Mr. Luca Ferrari, Italian Ambassador to China delivers opening address in the art theater of CFA.

2020 is the centenary of Italian film master Federico Fellinis birth, as well as the 50th anniversary of the establishment of China-Italy diplomatic relations. Given enough reasons to celebrate, this October and November in Beijing, China Film Archive has welcomed a splendid ever screening plan that is Ciao! Federico Fellini: A Retrospective. With firm support of Italian Embassy, Italian Institute of Culture, Cineteca Nationale, etc., the luxurious programming list includes 19 most important films of Fellini representing different periods of his whole creation and 3 shorts related to his art to review the magnificent cinema life of this genius in the world film history. The retrospective started on October 16th with the new 4K restoration of 8½ as the opening and will last till November 29th for the first part. As the second part, 8 representative works selected from the 19 films will continue to tour around in 5 other cities of China this December.
